Personal Assistant /Support Worker
Background to the job
To support a young woman with mosaic down’s syndrome with learning disabilities, epilepsy, gastropareses, coeliac disease and a dairy intolerance. She is an occasional wheelchair and mobility scooter user.
Hours / Times of Work
Varies between 6-12 hours per week, 6 hours usually on a Friday, but other days may be required. Term time may involve taking and/or collecting from college/care setting. Non term time will usually be at home and in the community.
Rates of Pay and other Benefits
£10.07 per hour.
5.6 weeks paid hoilday

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support client to take part in activities, e.g. painting, colouring, art and crafts, cinema/theatre/concert trips, college work, going to the park/beach, going shopping and any other interest’s as they arise. Making light gluten/dairy free meals and snacks, Peg care and feeding. Supporting with personal appearance and supporting parent at appointments if needed.

Full clean driving licence
Fully vaccinated against Covid
Awareness of pandemic guidance
Full Disclosure and Barring Service check
Good literacy skills
Previous experience of similar work e.g. nursing, education, special needs or care establishment
First Aid knowledge
Adaptable and flexible
