SUPPLY CHAIN DISTRIBUTION MANAGER (Monday - Friday Days 9am-5pm) Based in ANDOVER SP11

Salary £35,000 - £40,000 p.a.

We are looking for a Supply Chain Distribution Manager to join our national pallet distribution and warehouse solution. 

Normal working week is 37.5 hours (some flexibility with working hours will be required as dependent upon operational need).

This is a hands-on role responsible for owning the day-to-day 3PL operation to consistently achieve all operational KPIs and customer SLAs. You’ll be the lead focal point for our transport customer responsible for ensuring the best level of service is given at all times, producing KPIs to include measurement of activity, success, failure, mistakes, errors etc. and actively sharing and promoting best practices and processes into the business to continually improve these results.  Implementing robust corrective actions when service levels are not to the required standard and striving to improve and streamline processes while actively sharing and promoting best practices.  Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with the warehouse, transport team, customer etc. to ensure appropriate information flows.  The role also includes operational floor presence, effective communication, resource planning, continual improvement, motivating the team, coaching, employment relations activity, health & safety, liaison with the customer, security and compliance.  You will be joining a small team so you may also have to load/unload vehicles at times so you need to be adaptable and flexible.

Skills and experience 

Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, and ambition

Proven previous Distribution Manager / Supply Chain Manager / Operational Manager experience

Successful practical experience of management work within a busy target driven distribution operation

Excellent organisational skills and able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering consistent quality in a time-constrained operation

Have sound analytical skills and apply logic

Good UK geographical knowledge 

Takes ownership for own, employee and operational performance

Be a proven leader and motivator of staff

Be both Customer and Company focused with a proactive approach

Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others

Good understanding of vehicle capacities

Experience of using a Transport Management System (desirable but training will be given)

Understanding of tachograph legislation, driving limits and work time directive

Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Transport Management Systems)

Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and customer service

Sound judgement and decision-making skills

Able to work to time sensitive deadlines and prioritise work

Exhibit a high degree of flexibility and be able to work as part of a team

Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with Customer's

Able to pay strict attention to detail

Willing to challenge established practices

 

Due to the nature of our business you will be required to complete a basic DBS that provides us with any unspent criminal convictions.
