£12 per hour

About Me

I am 18 years old and I currently reside in supported, shared, residential accommodation. I am about to move into my own rented accommodation in Ely and require live in care support workers, to help me learn independent living skills. I would love to be able to live as regular a life as possible but need a team of appropriate support around me to help me achieve this. I have a diagnosis of ASD, sensory integration disorder and associated acute anxiety. This impacts on my self esteem and confidence which at times leaves me feeling very frustrated and in low mood. I currently attend college for 12.5 hours a week at Centre School, Cottenham. I feel very socially isolated, I want the opportunity to develop friendships, relationships and to explore social opportunities that interest and are appropriate for me. I would also love to explore work experience opportunities. I am a kind, sensitive young man who is very capable. I am also vulnerable in certain situations which means I need someone to keep an eye on me to ensure I am safe within my home and when out and about. However, I have the potential and ability to develop awareness around this, with the correct support. I am very creative and have a GCSE in Art. I love cars, especially American muscle cars, stock cars, toy cars which I like to customise, as well as animation and photography. I have a keen interest in history, WW1 & WW2, geography, different cultures, languages and accents. I am very good at impersonations. I love to be outside, I enjoy cutting the grass & sweeping up. I enjoy going to the gym and outdoor gym, as this gives me the opportunity to regulate some of my sensory difficulties. I want to learn to drive, and go on holiday. I have family living in Ely and my mum is a keen advocate for my feelings and wishes.
