Operations Management Accountant (FTC 12 months)

Responsible for reporting and forecasting the weekly and monthly operations performance across production sites in Bakery and Biscuits. Supporting the Operations Financial Controller in the delivery of first-class analysis and commentary around the financial performance of those sites and supporting functions (e.g. procurement)

 

What you will contribute:

  • The production of accurate weekly manufacturing performance reports
  • Business partnering the procurement function to improve price variance reporting, providing insight and improving forecasting
  • Supporting the Operations Financial Controller in the understanding and investigation of manufacturing variances to standard costs
  • Meeting all reporting deadlines and ensure the highest standards of data integrity are maintained
  • Attend the daily & weekly operations meetings to support the operations teams with the review of operational performance and impact on financial result
  • Monitoring and reporting on stock and stock adjustments including performing weekly and monthly stock reconciliations to support the division to manage continuous improvement in stock performance
  • Supporting the year end stock audit​
  • Preparing ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required to help maximise the financial performance of the business and support profit improvement / recovery of adverse variances
  • Supporting the analysis and control of site overhead expenditure including meeting monthly with budget holders to review performance versus budget
  • Driving the implementation of improved processes under the guidance of the Operations Financial Controller
  • Providing financial support to the NPD costing process
  • Working with the sites to prepare forecasts for site manufacturing variances and site overheads as part of IBP process on a monthly basis
  • Supporting the Operations Financial Controller in the delivery of projects for the business
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with month-end routine tasks as required
  • Actively participating in any future ERP or other business changes
  • Taking positive action to further the department’s reputation and support a finance team culture that is rooted in the Family Values

 

What you will bring:

  • CIMA qualified
  • Ambition to develop the role and self ​
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
  • Strong system skills, ideally with knowledge of SAP
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience of manufacturing accounting and reporting, as well as standard costing
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills
