Support Worker, Cambridge
£12 per hour
I am a 20 year old young woman living in Cambridge CB22 I have social anxiety and would like support to go out in the community.
I am interested in all animals and insects, and this is the most important part of my life – I was previously attending an animal handling course at college, and I have two rabbits and a dog.
I enjoy colouring, watching documentaries on Netflix, walking my dog, and with support riding on the bus. I am currently going to Slimming World on a Thursday morning, although I don’t always stay for the discussions.
Hours and rate of Pay
6 hours per week @ £12.00 per hour.
Ideally two 3-hour sessions, flexible days/times can be discussed – I am flexible and willing to negotiate.
The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)
DBS enhanced check is essential.
What you would be doing
To support me with accessing day opportunities, to provide social inclusion and build new relationships.
To support me with accessing the community, engage in building confidence and independence skills, and establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis.
The person I would like
Someone who can talk about animals, will come with me to walk my dog and have the ability to get me talking about the things I enjoy.
It would be useful, but not essential to have a car and full driving licence, with business use car insurance and a checkable driving licence.
Some experience of supporting people or family member in the community. Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give me support with building my confidence & self esteem & promoting my independence.
Be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with cheerful a sense of humour, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator.
