About Me


I am 60 year old man living independently in Kimbolton.

I have mental health issues which means at times I can feel overwhelmed, stressed and anxious, I also have a diagnosis of bi-polar disorder.

I like being active and its important for me to have continuity  of regular and reliable support worker/s

I require support with motivating me with daily activities as well as support with cooking, support to attend medical appointments and support with accessing the community and visiting family members.


Hours & Pay Rate

21 hours per week

2 ½ hours per day of support

1 ½ hours per week for social inclusion

1 hour per week for support with appointments plus

1 hour per week for transport to and from Headway.

Rate of pay: £12  per hour to include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)

Days/times can be flexible and will be discussed during the interview process

The post may suit a job share arrangement  


Main Duties

To be supported to keep my to keep my support structure in place, and to feel less stressed and anxious about this.  To be supported to deal with difficulties one thing at a time.

To be supported when cooking, and to ensure I maintain my nutritional needs, as I may not remember to eat or be motivated to cook.

To be supported when getting up and be motivated to wash and dress appropriately and support to get changed into bed at a regular time.

To be supported to take my medication on time and to be supported to attend medical appointments.

To support me when accessing the community, attending Headway and support to visit my family members.

Support with every day chores, laundry maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard and shopping


Person Specification

Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give me support with building my confidence & self esteem & promoting my independence.

Some knowledge and experience with working with people with low motivation and mental health issues.

You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.

Be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with cheerful a sense of humour.
