Carer/Personal Assistant for a child with Autism
A position for a Male experienced assistant to support a 12 year old boy with Autism, based in Southwark SE1(Southwark).
The ideal candidate is calm, reliable, friendly, patient and supportive. A genuine interest in providing high quality care and have the motivation to develop trust and understanding in the relationship. They will need to be physically fit with a flexible work approach and enjoys a challenge.
- A fun-loving person as the child is non-verbal, uses gestures and a PODD communication book.
- To help the child learn to ride the bicycle without the stabilisers.
- Active person.
The successful candidate must have experience of working with autistic individuals with complex needs. They will need to provide a checkable work history. A current, clear and valid Enhanced DBS certificate. Your duties will include age appropriate activities within the home and outside the home, ensuring the child is well looked after while in your care.
A level 2-3 Diploma in Health and Social care is desirable but not essential. Successful candidate must have at least 1 years’ experience working with people with disabilities.
Proof of entitlement to work in the UK will be required at interview.
An Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service Certificate or check will be required for this position.
