PA /TA, Home caring role with a teaching opportunity
Part-time time role 20hours per week, and opportunity to work overtime. Permanent contract with immediate start. Hours: Saturday or Sunday 8:00am to 8.00pm and some evenings. The hourly rate is £12.00 - £14.00 gross per hour depending on experience. £12,480- £14,560 gross + overtime+ statutory holidays and pension (based on 20hrs/wk). Overtime available to cover annual leave and sickness.

You'll be working with a great family who live in Little Downham, near Ely, who are looking for a 5th member of a fabulous team to work with an affectionate 18 year old young man with special needs and bags of energy!
You'll be supporting this young man with personal care, feeding, play and social activities in a loving and happy family home. In addition you will support a home education programme which will focus on his personal development and communication skills using Intensive interaction and Rapid prompting method (RPM). He loves running in open spaces, swimming, horse riding and other physical activities. He is autistic, has processing sensory disorder and suffers from epilepsy. He is also non-verbal and communicates with gestures and cards. He requires assistance with all aspects of personal care, daily activities and social skills.
This job will suit a proactive, energetic, caring and passionate candidate who enjoys working within a family home and providing 2:1 support. A truly rewarding position and opportunity to work with this fantastic you man and his dedicated team. Great training opportunity.
The successful applicant will have a full clean driving license and be hardworking, energetic and reliable, with a good sense of humour and willing to commit for at least 1 year, ideally longer. You'll have a positive attitude and be willing to learn with the family. You need to be fit and strong and vigilant to ensure he is kept safe at all times. Experience of epilepsy and manual handling would be an advantage. Training will be given.
