Steps to Independence Ltd provides support services for individuals with disabilities in their own homes and communities through packages of support which may range from just a small number of hours each week up to 24 hours each day. Our aim is to promote the  health, well-being and independence of each person we support to help them to acquire, re-acquire and maintain skills, in line with their agreed outcomes and individual needs. This includes delivering personal care where required. We work openly, honestly and collaboratively with local commissioners and with health and social care practitioners to ensure each person we support receives the correct level of support to meet their needs.

We are seeking full-time (36 hours per week) and part-time (24 hours per week) to join our growing and dedicated team in Kidderminster to work with a young gentleman in his home where he lives with his family and in the local community. Previous care and support work experience, either on a voluntary basis or in a paid capacity is essential.

Experience of working with individuals who present with behaviours that may challenge is desirable. The applicant must hold a full driving licence and be willing to drive the gentleman's adapted vehicle.

Full induction, training an professional development opportunities will be provided on commencement of the role. Most important is that you have, enthusiasm, drive and desire to make a difference to people's lives as well as being flexible, patient and able to view situations from a service user's perspective. Situations at times can be challenging, so you will need to be non-judgemental, with a sensitive approach and have good understanding of how to meet complex health and care needs, specifically in relation to Cerebral Palsy and severe physical impairment.

We provide a 365 day a year service for some of our client's, and therefore staff may be required to work shifts that include weekends and public holidays.
