Job Purpose and work duties

Job purpose:

I am looking for two new personal assistants.

I am looking for friendly, organized and LGBTQAI+ aware people with good disability awareness. Polyamory awareness is a bonus but not essential. I'm friendly and chatty but also sometimes introverted and my illnesses mean that although sometimes I like to chat, it's important that whoever I work with is also comfortable with comfortable silence or listening to music if I'm too exhausted for conversation. I'm also always happy (unless I have a migraine or am in a zoom meeting!) for the personal assistant to listen to music while doing tasks and/or drink tea/coffee/etc/whatever makes it more comfortable.

The job is in Hollingdean, Brighton, working with a queer, non binary (they/them pronouns), polyamorous (when safe enough I have partners stay over), autistic, ADHD (I require assistance to stay focused on tasks and help with organization), and disabled independent adult who lives with their rescue dog. I have various health conditions that mean having assistance with daily living tasks is necessary and beneficial for coping with everyday life and living life to its full potential, included in this is some help with the dog and he is a nervous rescue dog who comes with his own set of needs - it’s important whoever applies is confident with nervous/reactive dogs when walking them and will listen to my instructions regarding this. (He really is a sweetie though!)

Work Duties will include:

Helping with

Pet care

Keeping the flat clean and tidy (washing up/ laundry/ hoovering/ general tidying)

Food prep

Supporting

Life admin and odd jobs

Going out to places and doing nice things!

Undertaking activities for employer

Shopping

Driving to appointments etc.

Other requirements

COVID SAFETY - ideally if you’re able to wear a mask during your shift when we’re inside (aside from taking it off to drink and for necessary things) that would be preferable, but I also understand not everyone is able to wear a mask for long periods. Also social distancing only per current government restrictions, adapting if they change, but generally doing 2 lateral flow tests per week to watch for covid infection and notifying me of results. As a PA I think you also have access to a weekly PCR test if you want to use that!

Location

Brighton North, Hollingdean area

Hours and rate of pay

2x roles available:

First role is is Monday & Friday 4 hrs each so 8 hrs total.

Second role is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3 hrs each, so 9 hrs total.

£9.45 per hour with holiday and statutory sick pay.
