6 hours per week

£10.24 per hour

About the Employer

I am 11 years old and live and home with my parents and my younger brother and sister



My hobbies are music, dancing, basketball, frisbie throwing, bottle flipping and I love swimming too


For days out, we enjoy going out to Chester zoo with our membership cards, the ice cream farm, and playgrounds were I can stretch my legs and express myself.


I am a highly sociable young person and will interact with anybody who I meet as a I do enjoy chatting and meeting new people


I like to play on my I pad too, I watch videos and play games on it


Over crowded places and loud noises and waiting around for a period of time all can upset me and cause me to become challenging



I have a diagnoses of down syndrome and function at an age of 2 to 4 years old in most aspects of my life.


I do require support with personal care, toileting, dressing etc.


My language development is delayed and can cause me to become frustrated and annoyed in certain situations.


Mild Hearing loss means I also struggle to be heard and understood, talking clearly, and directly to me is important. 


I use a special needs pushchair to assist me as a I have a diagnoses of lower muscle tone, which affects my walking, stability and balance.


Summary of Duties




To provide support to access various social and recreational activities, both with the family and on a one to one basis.


You must therefore have a clean driving license and use own vehicle.



To provide support with preparing meals, refreshments, snacks and drinks


To provide support with personal care, toileting and any relevant task deemed required


To assist in the maintenance of independent living and so provide him with a greater range of opportunities to enhance his lifestyle.


All support to be provided using a person-centred approach.


The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)


The person they are looking for


The ideal person will have a good sense of humour and should also display plenty of energy, initiative and enthusiasm. In addition, applicants should be patient and trustworthy with a flexible and empathic attitude.


A positive attitude and clear understanding of confidentiality is essential. Promoting the independence of the client will be the main focus for any support.


You must be reliable, friendly and punctual.


You must be flexible as hours may vary depending on the monthly rota


You will be expected to cover holidays and sickness as part of a team.


The following skills/experience will be required – manual handling, first aid and food hygiene. Training can be provided.
