About me

I am 74 year old lady living independently in Impington. 

 I have a range of health conditions including dysphagia, cataracts, glaucoma and a history of a stroke.  

I require support with personal care and assistance with accessing social activities.

Hours and rate of Pay

Total hours are 18½ hours per week.

Rate of pay up to £15 an hour depending on experience

Hours and days of work can be flexible and be discussed at interview.

The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)

Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.

What you would be doing…

I require practical support to wash and dress each day. I would prefer the same carer to assist with personal care each day.

I would like be supported to have a full body wash each day and be offered to shower at least once a week, support to apply cream to my feet and legs. 

Support to dress in clothes of my choice during morning and evening calls. Medical advice should be sought if there are signs of skin breakdown.

I require the assistance of one carer using equipment for transfers. I would like to be transferred into my electric wheelchair each day.

I should be offered the use of the toilet at every call, and I should be supported with changing pads whenever necessary.

I would like support with keeping my home tidy, and support with everyday chores, maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard and support to arrange my possessions. I would like home cooked meals to be prepared in advance and to be supported to have meals, snacks and drinks throughout the day.

I would also like to be supported within my community for 1 hour per week.

I am looking for a small team of workers, who will work regular part time hours and be able to cover each other for planned holidays, as well as unexpected absences.

You should some knowledge and experience with working with people within their own homes, have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
