Cooke Optics Ltd are the premium lens manufacturer in the cinematography industry. Following a period of rapid growth we are currently looking to recruit an experienced machinist.
Conventional and CNC machining of glass
Interpret and understand manufacturing drawing
Using a variety of measuring equipment and instrumentation
Optical experience is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite. All machinist backgrounds considered
Prioritising workload, adapting to constantly changing production requirements
Practical aptitude and evidence of good hand skills
Ability to work and adapt in a friendly team environment
Good eyesight (corrected by glasses or contact lenses is not a problem)
Good attention to detail
The hours of work are as follows:
Monday to Thursday 37 hours a week. Evening shift, but training will take place during the day.
5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
Company pension contributions of up to 8%
In return for the above, the successful candidates will receive a competitive salary with full training. Following the training the applicant will be expected to work with minimum supervision, therefore must be self-motivated with a mature and responsible outlook.
