£11.00 per hour

6 hours term time / 9 hours during holidays

About the Employer

I am an 8 year old boy living at home with my parents in Merthyr Tydfil.

 

I love to be outdoors and my favourite things to do are to play in the park, to go swimming and to soft play areas.

 

I require a PA to help me to access new and existing places and opportunities to help me grow and learn socially.

 

I am a friendly person and want to sociable, however, sometimes I do benefit from guidance and support in social settings.

 

I do have a confirmed diagnoses of ASD, I am non verbal and an incontinent too

 

Summary of Duties

 

 

To provide support to access various social and recreational activities. You must therefore have a clean driving license and use own vehicle.

 

To provide support to access voluntary opportunities.

 

To provide support with socialising skills, behaviours and learning about acceptable behaviours in public

 

To provide support with preparing meals

 

To offer support and guidance with any personal care required

 

To assist in the maintenance of independent living and so provide him with a greater range of opportunities to enhance his lifestyle.

 

All support to be provided using a person-centred approach.

 

The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)

 

The person they are looking for

 

The ideal person will have a good sense of humour and should also display plenty of energy, initiative and enthusiasm. In addition, applicants should be patient and trustworthy with a flexible and empathic attitude.

 

A positive attitude and clear understanding of confidentiality is essential. Promoting the independence of the client will be the main focus for any support.

 

You must be reliable, friendly and punctual.

 

You must be flexible as hours may vary depending on the monthly rota

 

You will be expected to cover holidays and sickness as part of a team.

 

The following skills/experience will be required – manual handling, first aid and food hygiene. Training can be provided.
