Role Overview

As an Estimating Engineer you will work with a team of five other Estimating Engineers, producing machining time estimations from Customer drawings, raise quotations and generate method of manufacture routings for our busy machine shop.

The role includes buying materials and sub-contract services for orders secured, and liaising with shop floor colleagues, Customers and Suppliers on a daily basis.

Full support and training package is available to assist in adjustment and transition from other working environments in similar positions, or from shop floor to an office position.

Candidate Profile

  • Apprentice trained or Graduate educated, with experience working in a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Sound machining knowledge and experience.
  • Quality and service focused.
  • Team player with a positive “Can-Do”, methodical and solutions-based approach.
  • Comfortable working to systems and procedures, and able to think clearly and independently.

Pay, Conditions and Opportunities

  • Salary starting £41,000 per annum, with opportunity for career and financial progression to £50,000 per annum with experience.
  • 38.5 hours basic working week.
  • Pay reviewed annually.
  • Basic hours Mon – Thu 07.15-16.00 (30 mins unpaid lunch break) and Fri 07.30-13.00.
  • 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
  • 3 months sickness absence with full pay.
