Support worker vacancies, Derby
We are looking for staff to join our team of support workers working with S; a profoundly disabled 11 year old girl who has severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy. S has a gastrostomy feeding tube; requires frequent suction & oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation & uses a wheelchair & hoist.
She lives with her loving family and staff work alongside her Mother and other experienced staff to provide all her care needs; we are looking for people who are sensitive to working within a family home.
We provide a care package for 24hrs a day. You will also be expected to attend training, meetings, supervision etc outside of your rota’d hours, for which you will be paid at the hourly rate. You will be expected to provide cover for annual leave & sickness within the team. SH has frequent unplanned hospital stays, staff continue to provide assistance during these stays, reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
You will be occasionally be working alongside a team of therapists & will receive training in delivering care & therapy to S.
It is essential that you are a driver & hold a clean UK driving licence as the client has a wheelchair accessible vehicle which is driven by her support staff.
The client is currently living in Etwall but will be relocating to Chellaston in the autumn.

There is a 6 week rolling rota in place.
Nights: 20 hours per week over 2 nights, 2 full weekends off in the 6 week rota. To start asap.
Maternity cover: approx 28 hours per week plus sleep ins to include some weekend working, start date to be confirmed but no later than the end of October and is anticipated to be for 12 months, will be confirmed prior to starting.
Days: minimum of 19 hours per week and may include some sleep ins, will involve some weekend working. To start asap.
It may be possible for the successful applicant for the maternity cover to take the permanent day shift post when maternity cover ends.
Rates of pay: £12 hour days. £14 hour weekends/nights. £75 sleep in rate.
