About the Employer

 

I am a 33 year old lady living at home with my mum and dad.

 

Shopping is my favourite thing to do, I like to go to charity shops and finding cuddly toys and books available.

 

I am a keen reader and enjoy going to my local library and / or book shops, I like to browse through the selection of books and choice a new book.

 

Walking and swimming are also keen interests of mine, I like to go to our local park for a walk and soak I the beautiful scenery. I go swimming with my day centre activities, I attend the day centre 4 days a week.

 

I am a sociable person have a lot of good friends who also attend the day centre.

 

Some of my dislikes are large crowds and loud noises as I am hyper sensitive to this.

 

I am very regimental on my outlook on life, I like to take to the same way to places all the time, I like to know my plans for the day in advance.

 

I have autism with learning difficulties and don’t always understand the world around me. I have a limited vocabulary and will reply in short sentences, but can happily get by in conversation with friends and family.

 

 

 

Summary of Duties

 

 

 

To provide support to access various social and recreational activities. You must therefore have a clean driving license and use own vehicle, ideally.

 

To provide support to access voluntary opportunities.

 

To provide support with preparing meals, snacks and refreshments

 

To support with guidance, development and growth were possible

 

To assist in the maintenance of independent living and so provide him with a greater range of opportunities to enhance his lifestyle.

 

All support to be provided using a person-centred approach.

 

The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)

 

The person they are looking for

 

The ideal person will have a good sense of humour and should also display plenty of energy, initiative and enthusiasm. In addition, applicants should be patient and trustworthy with a flexible and empathic attitude.

 

A positive attitude and clear understanding of confidentiality is essential. Promoting the independence of the client will be the main focus for any support.

 

You must be reliable, friendly and punctual.

 

You must be flexible as hours may vary depending on the monthly rota

 

 

The following skills/experience will be required – manual handling, first aid and food hygiene. Training can be provided.
