Based in the market town of Malton which is Yorkshires food capital is our largest site and is also where our head office is based. The site offers a full turnkey operation from slaughter line, primary and secondary processing producing fresh pork, gammon and bacon products which we distribute across the UK and internationally.
We are an award-winning site, having received accolades from many customers and accredited organisations. We are the only site in the UK to hold the USDA licence for exporting to the US and China, something we are extremely proud of and work hard to retain.

A fantastic opportunity has opened up as a Specification Technologist, working primarily within our Malton office however you will spend time in the factory in order to take specifications to the shop floor. The typical day of a Specification Technologist involves the delivery of detailed and accurate customer, raw material and packaging specifications that meet the high standards and requirements set by our customers. This will involve communicating across various departments to gather the required information, updating retailer systems, and attending regular technical meetings.
Your role will be to ensure all products produced by the butchery and processing departments are produced to agreed and documented specifications to meet customer requirements. Working closely with the site technical manager you will help manage launch packs of each product. You will be a key member of our team attending meetings, as required, ensuring all information is accessible and professionally presented.
Ideally, you will have some experience in food science and working within the chilled food sector. Having a sound understanding of HACCP and quality systems is very beneficial for this position. This job would ideally suit those who have strong attention to detail and the ability to report accurately.
