Relief Support Worker

SG is a 32 year old male with a physical disability and he is verbally challenged. Despite his condition, he likes being physically active. It is important for him to have continuity of regular and reliable support workers who can assist him to achieve his rehabilitation goals. He requires support with personal care and assistance with accessing social and physical activities.
Hours and rate of Pay

Zero hour contract – Mainly to cover holiday/sickness for the main worker - up to 36 hours per week when working.

Hourly rate of £10
DBS check will be required.
What you would be doing…

Assistance with toileting, bathing and dressing.  Assistance with meal preparation.  Maintain a daily routine for the administering of medication.  Support with social and recreational outings and accompany on medical appointments where required.  Encourage and assist with physical activity such as walking with frame or on treadmill.  Encourage SG to practice speech production.  Encourage activities such as writing, colouring, preparing cup of tea.  Help identify any activities to assist working towards SG’s rehabilitation goals.

To liaise with SG to plan activities for the day as any tasks take much more time than usual person. Maintain brief daily written records and undertake any duties, which may be reasonably allocated, and fall within the scope and responsibility of the job. Needs may vary on a daily basis, therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter from the care plan.

Some knowledge and experience with working with people with physical disability. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
