Survivor Support Service (Support Worker) - 12 month temporary contract with possible extension – SSS in training £25,991 increasing to £27,041 once qualified


Based in Nottingham City Centre, although travelling to support survivors across Nottingham(shire) is a requirement of this role.


Hours of work

Full-Time 37.5 hours (over 5 days) Monday – Friday


Job purpose
The role is to work within Nottingham(shire) multi-agency setting to offer specialist support to anyone aged 18 years and over who is a survivor of child sexual abuse and was let down by an institution.



  • To develop, in conjunction with the survivor, an individual outcome-focused support plan and risk management plan to address risk and support needs.
  • To provide face to face, online and telephone support to survivors and their supporters.
  • To support partnerships working between the survivor and statutory agencies.
  • To signpost/refer to appropriate support agencies
  • To support survivors (where appropriate) through the criminal justice system.

Essential experience, qualifications and skills

  • Extensive experience of working with adult victims and survivors as an ISVA, counsellor, support worker, crisis worker or similar role.
  • Ability to understand and manage trauma responses, with experience of using ground techniques where appropriate.
  • Experience of completing risk assessments and making safeguarding referrals.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and ability to support survivors where appropriate.
  • Ability to travel around the County and be flexible as to working some unsociable hours, when necessary.
