Our new Kickstart role in Operations provides an entry-level opportunity to learn about the Food Industry and develop a broad range of skills across 6 months to enable you to choose a specific career pathway that you are interested in pursuing thereafter.
You will initially join our production operations and be given the opportunity to work with our specialist processing and packaging teams. You will learn about the importance of safe food production, adhering to hygiene standards, meeting customer specifications and how to work closely as a valuable member of the team. You will be working as an operative team member and will learn how to work safely with our processing equipment and how to monitor our production performance each day.
During your 6 month placement with us, you will also have the opportunity to work alongside our Quality and Technical team members, learning about the importance of quality standards, product specifications and the importance of maintaining hygiene routines.
Engineering and H&S Teams:
During your placement, you will also be offered insight into the engineering aspects of the food industry and their critical role in maintaining operations 24/7, as well as experiencing the importance of keeping our people safe through the work of our H&S team.
Your day to day tasks can vary within the business from packing raw/cooked meats and feeding products through a machine, carrying out product temperature checking, labelling and working to a clean as you go standard. You will be building on your communication and teamwork skills every day, learning how to manage in a busy work environment and meet production targets. You will also build on your existing basic knowledge/skills (maths, English, technology, science) as you are exposed throughout your placement to their use in our everyday operations. This is all in addition to the specific training and development days you will be provided with every month as part of your Kickstart journey at Karro.
There is a real chance of progression into a permanent role at Karro, with an additional possibility of entry onto a Food Industry-related apprenticeship programme, for a self-driven individual. This is an opportunity to build a solid work history with a company that prides itself on giving people a chance to reach their potential.
