About the service user

I am 14 years old and live with my mum, dad, 2 sisters and our dog in Milton. I have diagnoses of Global Developmental Delay and I have separation anxiety.

I love being outside, going for walks by the river or to the local country park, I am interested in trees and flowers, I also enjoy a trip to MacDonalds.

I can be vulnerable when out in the community and can panic in large noisy places.


Hours and rate of Pay

£10 per hour plus accrued holiday pay

Hours will be used either fortnightly or monthly to be discussed and agreed.

Enhanced DBS clearance will be required.

What you would be doing…

Supporting me to go out and have fun with someone other than my parents. This will include going for walks and catching the bus into Cambridge.

You will be helping to boost my confidence in social situations and improve my skills when using public transport and paying for things in shops and promoting general communication skills.


The person I would like…

You must have experience of supporting young people with  learning disabilities.

You will need to be inventive and have ideas of different activities we can do together.

It is very important that you are friendly and cheerful, you will also need to be flexible and punctual.

Someone who is happy and willing to be interactive, you will be encouraging in order to improve and develop my skills.
