Full-Time and Part-Time Support Workers required in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
We are looking for enthusiastic care and support workers to join a small team supporting a gentleman with an acquired brain injury, physical disability and some cognitive difficulties to live an independent and active life.
There are currently full-time and part-time positions available, working across shifts that include days, nights and weekends. Shift patterns are a mixture of long and short days worked between 9am and 8pm, or sleep-in shifts through the night. You may also be required to help with providing cover during periods of annual leave and sickness among the team.
Duties include supporting the client with personal care, as well as identifying and accessing a range of leisure activities in and around the local community, and implementing interventions recommended by a range of therapy professionals involved with the client’s care. You will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the client while promoting his independence and social skills.
Experience of working with people with an acquired brain injury is desirable, as is experience of moving and handling duties, both to assist with daily function and to facilitate identified therapy goals. However, experience is not essential, as full training will be given.
Candidates will need to have flexibility in their approach, a commitment to social inclusion and an enhanced DBS clearance. A full driving licence is essential. An outgoing and fun personality would be advantageous, as would an interest in football, playing snooker, shopping, socialising and watching DVDs.
