Job Title: Contingency Personal Assistant (providing regular cover for vacant shifts due to annual leave etc.)
Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer’s representative
Hours: Morning Shift 08.15 – 15.15
Afternoon Shift 14.00 - 22.30
Waking Nights Shifts 21.15 – 09.15
Full Time &/or Part Time available

Hourly Rate of Pay: £11.00
Based at: Retirement Village, (employer’s home address), in South Birmingham.
Are you interested in working as part of a well-motivated team providing 24 hour care for a 68 year old man who suffers from Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and needs a high level of help and support? Despite this he is positive, caring, cheeky and has a good sense of humour which all contribute to a relaxed atmosphere and makes for a great place to work.
Candidates must have a caring and positive outlook on life. Be willing to undergo any training required by the employer. The candidate must be patient, use initiative and be supportive.
Responsibilities include supporting the male with all aspects of personal care and repositioning. A full range of equipment, including as a hoist, is available to help with these tasks.
Desirable competencies are non-invasive oral suction, oxygen, regular monitoring of SATS/Temp/Pulse, CPAP and PEG (Feed and Medication). These competencies are desirable; however, training will be given to the successful candidate.
The male is fully supported by his wife (employer’s representative) on site who has had vast experience in caring for her husband over the last six years and will mentor and support the successful candidates.
It is contracted employment with paid annual leave and pensions scheme if appropriate.
