Full time role, opportunity to work overtime. Permanent contract. Rota based on 3 weeks including midweek and weekend shifts.  Shifts are typically 8.00am-2.30pm and 2.00pm-8.00pm. Hourly rate £12-15/hr. £18,720- £23,400 gross + overtime+ statutory holidays and pension.

You'll be working with a great family who live in Little Downham, near Ely, who are looking for a 4th member of a fabulous team to work with an affectionate 18 year old young man with special needs and bags of energy!


You'll be supporting this young man with personal care, feeding, play and social activities in a loving and happy family home. In addition you will support a home education programme which will focus on his personal development and communication skills using Intensive interaction and Rapid prompting method (RPM). He loves running in open spaces, swimming, horse riding and other physical activities. He is autistic, has processing sensory disorder and suffers from epilepsy. He is also non-verbal and communicates with gestures and cards. He requires assistance with all aspects of personal care, daily activities and social skills.

 

This job will suit a proactive, energetic, caring and passionate candidate who enjoys working within a family home and providing 2:1 support. A truly rewarding position and opportunity to work with this fantastic you man and his dedicated team. Great training opportunity.


The successful applicant will have a full clean driving license and be hardworking, energetic and reliable, with a good sense of humour and willing to commit for at least 1 year. You'll have a positive attitude and be willing to learn with the family. Experience of epilepsy and manual handling would be an advantage. Training will be given.

 

If appointed, you'll be subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.
