Joerns Healthcare is a leading manufacturer and national service provider of patient handling products to the Healthcare Industry. We are recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join our Purchasing Team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Working in a team of 4 which consists of a Buyer and a Purchasing Assistant, you will:

  • Manage supplier relationships, dealing with order queries & invoice queries, outstanding orders, urgent requirements, providing forecast data
  • Raise purchase orders to suppliers through Exact Globe and Slimstock
  • Review out of stock parts and chase accordingly, reviewing and negotiating all Freight options 
  • Support with current projects liaising with suppliers and dealing with DCO’s, providing bi-weekly updates to the Senior management team
  • Communicate internally, providing updates on Inventory and shipments to the core Operations of the Business
  • Help manage the shared purchasing inbox, ensuring all emails are answered within a reasonable time frame
  • Support with Imports – Previous knowledge preferred / understanding of Imports process, however training will be provided

 

 

Requirements:

  • Confident dealing both with internal colleagues and suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Team player – be able too work well as part of a team, but also use their own initiative when required.
  • Methodical and good attention to detail
  • A minimum of 1 year of purchasing experience is preferred
  • High proficiency in Excel and Outlook

 

Other information

 

  • Contract: 14 month Fixed Term Contract 
  • Hours of Work: This post is for 35 hours per week. Mon – Thur 09:00 – 17:00 and Friday 9:00– 14:00
  • Salary & Benefits: Negotiable depending on experience. 25 Days Pro Rata annual leave, plus bank holidays, autoenrollment pension, Healthcare cash plan, life insurance.
  • Start date: April 2021
  • Location : This position is based on site in Drakes Broughton, Pershore, Worcestershire
  • Employees are classed as key workers
  • This role is office based but there may be some remote working depending on the COVID restrictions in place at the time
  • Reports to: Due to Maternity leave, our Purchasing team are currently reporting to the UK Financial Controller.
  • Onboarding & Training : The first 4-6 weeks of this role will be spent with the Junior Buyer who will be going on Maternity Leave and so a full handover will be completed. All training for this role will be conducted in the office. COVID safe ways of working and social distancing procedures will be adhered to.
