Female Part – Time Personal Care Assistant

Hours: 
20 hours per week to be agreed with the employer but a minimum of 5 days each week. 

 

Day/Time 

Monday to Friday - 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Flexibility is paramount. Some evenings and weekend work may be required due to my fluctuating condition. 

 

Rate:  £9.50 per hour 

 

Job purpose: To assist with the day to day activities enabling the employer to maintain an independent and fulfilling life that meets their chosen lifestyle. My needs can change due to my fluctuating medical condition. 

Work Duties may include:

 

Helping with: 
Personal care including washing and dressing 
Daily activities in the home 

 

Supporting: 
With accessing social activities 
With mobility, ensuring the employers safety

 

Undertaking activities for employer: 
Shopping for food and other required items 
Preparing and cooking food 
Cleaning and laundry 
Ensuring employers home is hygienic and safe 

 

Other requirements: 
Working in a safe way and highlighting health and safety concerns 
Assisting with management of employer’s health risks 
Establish and maintain effective communication 
Maintaining confidentiality 

 

Location and additional information: 
Within the employer’s home in Montpelier and the local area. 

 

Requirements for applicant:  
Female required 
An understanding of the cultural needs of black and other minority groups 

Ability to follow instructions and take direction from the employer 
Good sense of humour 
Patience 
Honest and reliable 
Experience of providing personal care 
Ability to undertake domestic activities 
Good general fitness 
Driver, with clean driving license and access to own vehicle 
An enhanced DBS check will be required
