SPECIAL CHILDCARE SUPPORT NEEDED
MARY POPPINS EQUIVALENT!
Enhanced Support Worker
35 hours per week
Annual salary: £24,700.00*
We are a local family looking to build up a small care team to support our teenage son who has cerebral palsy. We also have three younger children ranging in age from 10 to 2 years old and the role is to help us all lead as normal a life as possible. Our eldest son is an active wheelchair user who loves music, swimming and all things outdoors. He usually attends regular trampoline and horse-riding groups and he dotes on his younger siblings and likes to keep up with them no matter what!
We are looking for caring, dedicated and motivated individuals to join our two full time carers as soon as possible. They have been with us for a number of years as stability and building relationships over time is vital in this role. If you are fun, creative and energetic and passionate about young people reaching their potential, we would love to hear from you.
The majority of shifts will be supporting our eldest son (to include personal care) but special needs experience is not essential. The role requires the need for organisation, planning and flexibility. You will be happy working in collaboration with other team members when required eg when all the children are together or supporting any of the children on a 1 to 1 basis when needed. You will be sensitive to working in our family home, respecting privacy and boundaries and happy to accompany us on family holidays from time to time.
A Driving Licence is essential. Shifts include before school (6am – 9am) and after school (3pm – 9pm), some sleep-in nights and longer shifts on Weekends and School Holidays. Rotas agreed a month in advance.
Excellent rates of pay – *Annual salary based on 35 hours per week at Monday to Friday £13.00 per hour. Weekends £15.00 per hour
Full induction and relevant training will be provided.
A DBS check will be pursued.
What’s great about this job:
“I have worked with this family for a number of years, and I can’t tell you how special they are. I love nothing more than reminiscing with the older children and re calling amazing memories with them. I don’t think anything could give you more passion and purpose in life than working with children, and seeing them thrive, challenge themselves and then go on to challenge the world around them. And that could not be more true than about their eldest son! It is a hardworking role with many different aspects, but nothing will build you up more than being celebrated and liked, just for being who you are” Quotation from Current Senior Leader
