Job Purpose and work duties
Job purpose: To provide care for a severely disabled 31-year-old man and to help him to live as independently as possible. The man has got Cerebral Palsy, a condition that deprives him with the ability to speak and walk, however he is doing a master’s at the University of Brighton.
Work Duties will include:
Getting him up (with a hoist) and dressed, showering him, preparing food, feeding him, aiding him to use the urine bottle, placing him onto the toilet (with a hoist), being with him when he decides to go out and learning how to communicate with him through his letter board,
Undertaking activities for employer
Learning to how to handle his body in a safe manner, doing all of household chores for him, listening for me through the monitor, when he goes to town or elsewhere you are expected to go with him and watch out for obstacles etc and be nice.
He lives off Coldean Lane in the Varley Park campus. There is a room provided beside his disabled room.
Hours and rate of pay
A day work consists of 15 hours at £9.31 & £40 for a sleeping night.
Requirements for applicant
No prior caring experience needed (training will be provided), reliability, flexible and be kind and nice.
