Relief Pharmacy Dispenser

We are looking to rapidly expand our team of relief dispensers to better support our teams, but also to aide expansion of the group. If you are someone who enjoys a bit of variety and will be happy to travel around then please read on. 

Job Description:

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will work as part of the Pharmacy team, under the licensed Pharmacist, to prepare and dispense medicines, along with wider Pharmacy duty.  You will be working within a respectful and supportive team, providing a high-quality service to all customers who carry out a wide range of tasks to meet both company and customer expectations.  All customers will be supported and treated with dignity and respect and confidentiality is maintained at all times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Pharmacist and Technicians in the labelling, endorsing, ordering and preparation of all types of prescriptions and medicine orders.
  • Co-ordinating all daily and weekly prescriptions ensuring where necessary, scripts are re-ordered and all items are made up in advance ready for collection or delivery.
  • Delivering medications to patients and processing pharmacy purchases.
  • Dealing directly with patients in obtaining medical information and dispensing prescriptions.
  • Offering help and instructions to patients regarding their prescription medicines under the guidance of the Pharmacist Manager.
  • Keeping stock of medications on hand and letting the pharmacist know when orders are needed, ordering stock as instructed according to company guidelines.
  • Control of the dispensary stock including date checking and regular stock rotation.
  • Helping customers within the Pharmacy.
  • Daily and weekly cashing up, ensuring till sheets are completed, and banking of takings – as and when required.
  • General housekeeping duties within the dispensary – as required.

 Person Specification:

  • Qualified, or working towards SVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
  • Great work ethic and positive attitude with a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Confident computer and database skills.
