Do you want to lead change and make a real difference to those who are suffering with complex mental health illness?

BCHA is recruiting for a Senior Practitioner for our High supported and transitional Mental Health Accommodation based services in Poole.  You will be responsible for leading and developing high quality and evidence based service, which supports and empowers our customers to have choice.

Safeguarding our customers is of paramount importance to us, to be successful in this post you will be required to undertake necessary checks and complete training on commencement of the position.

Our High supported and transitional Mental Health Accommodation based service accommodate those most in need of support with their mental health and other complex needs, therefore a sound knowledge of Recovery based approaches and a good understanding of Mental Health Crisis Management is required, along with experience of delivering housing services that meet the needs of people who use our services and commissioners.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate these values:

  • The ability to positively promote the organisation at external events.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with NHS mental health services and local authority and stakeholders.
  • The ability to write and interpret complex reports and excellent level of spoken and written English and experience of managing budgets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
  • Commitment to reflective practice and continued learning and development
  • Excellent knowledge of Community Care, Mental health, Health and Safety and welfare benefits legislation.
  • A broad knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing and monitoring and a person centred approach to support and assessment plans.
  • Evidence of offering outstanding service to people we support and co-developing improvements to quality standards
  • Strong leadership skills

DBS checks are required for roles where you will be working with or have lone contact with Vulnerable Adults and Children.
