Finance Assistant

The role holder will provide document processing and supplier communications support to the accounts payable team, as well as working in the cash planning department, posting bank receipts and managing transactions into SAP, taking a full and active role in the administrative duties of the department. This role will involve communication with all Karro sites and suppliers and assist the smooth operation of those accounts and requests to ensure continuation of supply to and from the business. They will work to a high standard of accuracy and efficiency, assisting with all queries and problems and delivering an exceptional service to our customers.

Key responsibilities:

Purchase ledger duties

  • Take phone calls from suppliers and other Karro sites
  • Processing a high volume of invoices efficiently whilst being thorough, checking that all the information has been verified
  • Daily duties include sorting post, reconciling statements and answering supplier and site queries

Cash Planning duties

  • Downloading daily customer receipts and transactions from the online banking system and posting into excel
  • Posting bank receipts and transactions into SAP
  • Processing cheques received
  • Initiating bank payments and transfers
  • Analysing daily and weekly bank movements to enable variances against forecast to be calculated

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of working within an accounts environment
  • Ability to demonstrate achievements in previous roles
  • Experience of working within a large organisation
  • Good communication skills with the capability to communicate confidently internally and externally
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work within an agreed established framework and cope with pressure, working to deadlines and targets demonstrating a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to report accurately
  • IT Literate with experience of processing computer based data
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Work in an open and honest manner, with a focus on strong communication to create relationships based on a culture of sharing information
