Self Employed Support worker
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and open-minded MALE support worker to support an established team working with an intelligent 18 year old young man with autism and ADHD. Due to the nature of the condition we will only be accepting applications from males.
The support worker should be a caring, friendly, reliable and well organised person with excellent communication skills and a good level of English and Maths.
Experience of working with autism is preferable, although full training will be given.
A willingness to learn and an ability to use your own initiative, make decisions and work in accordance with the support plan, the team and man's parents is essential.
Willingness to travel with the client in your own car and a clean driving licence is desirable. You will undergo a full induction process and shadowing shifts to introduce you to the daily routine and duties and regular training will be provided. You will have help and support from the rest of the team and the young man's parents and will be supported by continuous on job training.
This is a permanent post subject to two references, the 3 months probationary period and a DBS Enhanced Disclosure. The post involves working a 5 -7 hour shift pattern.
Hours are negotiable and full time and part time posts are available, some weekends and overnights will be required.
Hourly rate £12 per hour You will be required to register as self-employed.
