Job Description


Job Purpose and work duties

Job purpose:

To assist with the day to day activities enabling the client to maintain an independent and fulfilling life that meets their chosen lifestyle. Client had accident in October 2019 which has resulted in brain injury. Client suffers with anxiety and depression from the and affects her day to day duties. Client is a single mum with a child who two children who have been diagnosed with Autism. Client has fatigue and brain pain; client will need support to rest and help to recover this. Applicant will need to attend the community with client and her children together. The applicant will need support with the children when client is tired and needs support.


Work Duties will include:

Helping with

    • Admin work
    • Personal care required
    • Some domestic tasks e.g. laundry, housework
    • Shopping
    • Accessing the community with client and her kids together
    • Client will need to rest, therefore applicant will need to support house hold duties and support with children. 
    • Supporting
  • With mobility, ensuring the client safety


Undertaking activities for employer

  • Ensuring clients home is hygienic and safe


Other requirements

  • Working in a safe way and highlighting health and safety concerns
  • Assisting with management of employer’s health risks
  • Establish and maintain effective communication
  • Maintaining confidentiality


  • Within the employer’s home in Portslade area.


Hours and rate of pay

7 hours per week @ £9.50

Mornings and weekends required.

Some flexibility will be arranged to meet client’s needs.

  • Able to provide motivation for client.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required
  • Experience working with young autistic children.
