Personal Assistant/Support Worker (Ref PER529954/NS)

Job Description

Job Purpose and work duties

Job purpose:

To assist with the day to day activities enabling the employer to maintain an independent and fulfilling life that meets their chosen lifestyle.

Hours and rate of pay

10 hours per week at £9.35 per hour Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 7.00am- 9.00am Additional 2 hours at mutually convenient time on a Tuesday to support with shopping or socialising.

Work Duties may include:

Helping with

  • Personal Care
  • Prompting medication and personal hygiene inc eating and drinking
  • Meal/snack preparation
  • Some domestic tasks e.g. laundry, housework


  • Support with life skills
  • Support with household paperwork and correspondence
  • Helping to organise appointments
  • Social support inc clothes shopping, visitting friends, going for food or visitting the bank   
  • With mobility, ensuring the employers safety

Undertaking activities for employer

  • Ensuring employers home is hygienic and safe

Other requirements

  • Working in a safe way and highlighting health and safety concerns
  • Assisting with management of employer’s health risks
  • Establish and maintain effective communication
  • Maintaining confidentiality



  • Within the employer’s home in Southmead area of Bristol.

Requirements for applicant

  • Experience of providing personal care
  • Experience of Manual Handling
  • Driver required, with access to motor vehicle (mileage paid)
  • Good sense of humour
  • Patience
  • Ability to understand and deliver the needs of the employer
  • Ability to undertake domestic activities
  • Flexible, reliable and honest
  • Good general fitness
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required
