Personal Assistant/ Support Worker

I am a vibrant female who has a brain injury. I have a strong military background. I require a personal assistant to help me keep independent within my own home and the community as well as to help me with my children.

 

I am a very bubbly person who likes a good laugh, but I may get tired and get a migraine if I am on the go all the time. I would need someone who is able to get to know me well enough in order to recognise when I need to slow down and rest when needed.

 

I need support in organising appointments via the homehelp website and organising paperwork at home.

 

 

To provide support to access various social, voluntary and recreational activities. You must therefore have a clean driving license. 

 

You will support her within her own home, with her children, with housework and any reasonable tasks.  

 

Support with daily household tasks; to include cleaning kitchen appliances and work surfaces, dusting, cleaning floors and bathrooms and any other reasonable task the employer requests. 

 

Support with laundry and ironing. 

 

Th employer would need support to organise her appointments via a homehelp website.

 

The employer may ask you to attend events as support is required for this.

 

 

To assist in the maintenance of independent living and so provide her with a greater range of opportunities to enhance her lifestyle. 

 

All support to be provided using a person-centred approach. 

 

The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata) 

 

 

 

The ideal person will have a good sense of humour and should also display plenty of energy, initiative and enthusiasm. In addition, applicants should be patient and trustworthy with a flexible and empathic attitude. 

 

The ideal candidate would be capable in organising paperwork and using the internet to use the homehelp website.

 

A positive attitude and clear understanding of confidentiality is essential. Promoting the independence of the client will be the focus for any support. 

 

You must be reliable, friendly and punctual. 

 

You must be flexible as hours may vary depending on the monthly rota 

 

You will be expected to cover holidays and sickness as part of a team. 

 

The following skills/experience will be required – manual handling, first aid and food hygiene. Training can be provided.

This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant.
