We are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to deliver outstanding customer service by delivering best in class expert HR support to key stakeholders and senior executives. You will be our customers trusted advisor working closely with them to deliver their HR strategy. You will be constantly striving to improve the efficiency and professionalism of working practices to meet the company’s objective of “clarity and consistency” and working “smarter not harder” to facilitate an increase in customer base whilst maintaining and improving customer service.

 

Key responsibilities:- 

  • To act as the first point of contact for key stakeholders to provide advice and solutions on employee relations matters including, working arrangements, contractual matters, sickness, employee communication and consultation, in line with current legislation.
  • Respond to a wide range of customer enquiries, via telephone, e-mail or other correspondence, relating to HR issues/administration in a professional manner, to ensure that customers receive timely, accurate and valuable advice.
  • Liaising with the school’s other allocated contacts at EPM, to ensure a seamless HR, Payroll & Pensions service.
  • Work in conjunction with colleagues in the HR advisory team to effectively hand over relevant cases ensuring a smooth and consistent service is provided
  • Deliver a range of HR activities within identified areas of work and support the work of Senior HR Advisors and HR Managers
  • Actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the HR Advisor team, undertaking specific projects to embed consistency and best practice.
  • Keep professionally up to date with human resource management trends and initiatives locally and nationally, identifying how they may impact on local service requirements and delivery or be utilised to improve efficiency.
  • Undertake HR related assignments and projects as identified by senior colleagues that are appropriate to this role and the individual’s experience.
  • To maintain HR information management systems will relevant information, as per standard operating procedures.
  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues within the team to support their development and to ensure that all customers receive timely, accurate and professional advice.
  • Offer accurate interpretation, advice, application and representation to customers on employment legislation, best practice and policies and procedures in relation to and in the context of customers’ policies and procedures on a range of HR matters.
  • Undertake visits, where appropriate, to customers to provide support and advice on HR concerns to assist in their resolution. Attend and advise at formal meetings, where appropriate in accordance with experience and knowledge

 

What we are looking for

  • Five  9 - 5 GCSEs  including Maths and English,  or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in an administrative role within a HR environment
  • Competency in interpreting and providing advice on employment legislation and conditions of service to ensure compliance and best practice 
  • Competency in establishing good working relationships with a range of customers e.g. headteachers, governors, and senior managers, or similar
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility with customers
  • Previous experience of managing human resources in the Education Sector desirable but not essential
  • Confident in negotiating with trade union representatives
