About the Job  

The role is to provide support to my 12 year old grand daughter who has congenital myotonic dystrophy, and associated learning disability. Duties will include support with personal care and dressing/undressing before and after school, five days a week.

7 ½ hours per week

£9.80 per hour

Location Rhyl, Denbighshire

Closing Date 24th July 2020

Pattern of work will be as follows:

Monday & Wednesday  & Friday - 7am-8am & 3.45pm-4.15pm

Tuesday & Thursday - 7am-7.45 & 3.45pm-4.15pm

One further half hour session to be worked as and when required on a mutually agreed basis

Responsible to Directly to the employer; the grand parent

Main Tasks

3 mornings a week to assist to fully shower and get dressed ready for school.

2 mornings a week to assist to wash and get dressed ready for school.

5 afternoons after school, to assist  to wash and change into nightwear.

Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.

Undertake any further training, as mutually agreed.

The successful applicant will need to:

Establish a professional standard of care which should be maintained at all times.

Respect and safeguard the goods and property of the family.

Respect the privacy of the family and uphold confidentiality at all times.

Be punctual, reliable and have some degree of flexibility.

Special Conditions

A Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and two satisfactory references are conditional for the post. This is a free and confidential process.
