An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join AIM Altitude based in Waterbeach, Cambridge. Reporting to the Head of Quality, this is a pivotal role within the Quality Department. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work within the guidelines set out by your manager. A hardworking can do attitude is a must as well as the ability to work under pressure. The ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised is essential.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Ensure a prompt response to external customers and internal non-conforming products.
  • Achieve timely response to set targets.
  • To support all departments within the business and ensure that AIM products are manufactured in conformance with the relevant design data and specifications.
  • Main duties
  • Work with internal and external suppliers on NCR’s
  • Respond to customer information requests
  • Investigating customer returns with root cause and corrective action and responding to customer
  • Investigate internal defects within the organisation
  • Liaise with customers on Quality matters
  • Support the implementation of a quality audit programme in which compliance with all processes is reviewed at regular intervals
  • Carry out internal and external audits when requested
  • To produce and provide audit reports to the Head of Quality
  • Closure of Non-conformance reports arising from internal and external non-conforming products
  • To record and publish daily quality performance data and understand the company overall quality performance
  • To maintain a regime of continuous manufacturing quality improvement
  • Support the inspection department
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Quality
  • Previous experience of working in a controlled aerospace environment and relevant processes would be an advantage.
  • Basic Hours of work are 08.00 – 16.30 Monday – Thursday, 08.00 – 13.00 Friday (37 hours)
