Female Personal Assistant required in the S2 area of Sheffield.

To support a lady with Cerebral Palsy and Autism with some mobility in maintaining her independence.

This role would be best suited to a responsible, caring and patient individual who can be relied upon to maintain excellent timekeeping skills and promote a level of positivity and motivation in others.

21 hours per week. Typically, Saturday morning to afternoon shift with the occasional later Saturday shift instead, Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning (extended night shift).

Meets national minimum wage.

This position is temporary and will be available from 24.02.20 to 17.08.20.

Duties include:

  • Prompting meals and medication.
  • Supporting and supervising with personal care including toileting during the night.
  • Accompanying and supporting the lady in accessing the community. The lady enjoys going to the cinema often (free entry for the PA) and shopping at various centre’s such as Meadowhall on a regular, planned basis.
  • To instil a level of motivation in the lady to remain positive, active and social.
  • Encouraging exercise and frequent movement whenever possible.

About you:

  • A DBS check may be required. The expense will be met by your employer.
  • An outgoing, kind and bubbly person would be preferred, as the need for a positive relationship is paramount.
  • You must be an enthusiastic individual, as well as reliable, punctual and flexible, with a positive attitude and patient manner. The lady will insist on duties being performed in a certain way/order, so it’s essential that you accommodate this whenever possible.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable, with an understanding of the lady’s disabilities and their day-to-day effects. Training will be provided around current needs as required.
  • An ability to maintain confidentially and be non-judgmental.
  • Driver preferred - Must have a clean driving licence & own a car with workplace insurance in place.
