Purchasing Assistant

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Purchasing Assistant to join our small but very busy Procurement team. Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Raising purchase orders and updating the CRM Purchase Order Management System
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers
  • Working on Quality Control documents
  • Assisting with day to day factory production issues
  • Negotiating and agreeing prices, ensuring budget targets are adhered to
  • Co-ordinating requirements across all departments, ensuring quality of product, correct supply and waste reduction
  • Purchasing of all consumables within the business, including packaging, stationery, business cards and other office products
  • Other ad-hoc tasks to support team members


 Skills and Experience: 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with a confident telephone manner
  • Solid administration skills with good attention to detail
  • Plenty of initiative with a hands-on approach and able to work with minimal supervision
  • A proven team player with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
  • PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Some knowledge of purchasing corrugated packaging would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial, but full training will be provided


This is a full time position, normal hours of work will be 9.00am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with a one hour unpaid lunch break.
