Plate Librarian/Night Shift Leader

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Plate librarian / Night shift leader to join the team at a site based in Leicester. The full time permanent role will report to the Site Operations Manager and will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensure all quality control procedures are adhered to relating to processing and checking
  • Completion of daily handover and provide appropriate information for the on-coming shift
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained
  • Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met, monitored and maintained
  • Provide help and assistance to all departments as and when required
  • Promote a sound employee relations climate for all employees
  • Communicate appropriately with internal customers at all times
  • Pre sorting plates in preparation for production
  • Checking plates for damage upon their return to the Pre-Press department
  • Ensuring all plates are returned to their correct location in racking and book them into the system
  • Complete plate checks for wear & tear or damage to identify when new plates will be required
  • Maintaining a safe and well organised pre-press department

Key Skills

  • Minimum GCSE Standard
  • Numerate & literate including basic computer literacy
  • Experience supervising in a Printing, Manufacturing, FMCG facility
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Team Player
  • Experience and or training regarding the Occupational Health & Safety, 5S, Lean Methodologies preferred
  • Quality systems knowledge - to a reasonable level be able to monitor staff performance and costs within the department (including, but not limited to: time-keeping, quality, productivity, etc.)

 

This is a night shift position working 10 pm – 6 am Monday to Friday (with a degree of flexibility).

In return, we offer a competitive salary with scope to increase based on performance plus 22 days holiday excluding bank holidays, group pension scheme and death in service benefit.
