Background to the job


To support client with their mental health, support with maintaining their home and with paperwork.


Hours / Times of Work


4-8 hours per week, (days to be agreed at interview)

Occasional support at weekends


Rates of Pay and other Benefits

Flat rate £9.89 per hour - Basic


Main Duties and Responsibilities


Ensure that my home is clean and tidy throughout

Support with checking and responding to correspondence

Washing up

Loading and unloading the dishwasher, ensuring that all washed laundry is hung out to dry before leaving

Cleaning surfaces in the kitchen (thorough cleaning of kitchen)

Hoover the floors

Ensuring that bedroom is kept clean and tidy (thorough cleaning of bathroom)

Dust surfaces in lounge and bedroom

Pick up bits of paper, magazines, clothes and newspapers and sort

Take the rubbish out

Drive to the supermarket to do a shop

Doing any odd task required by the employer

Ensuring that home/kitchen essentials such as cleaning materials and food essentials are well stocked

Changing bed linen (clean bed linen provided)

Ensuring clothes are easily to hand

Making tea/coffee as required

Simple meal preparation as required

Ensuring that medication is properly stored and easily to hand

Making sure to organise and store essential items so I don't have to bend or stretch to reach them due to back injury

Some light household tasks such as changing light bulbs (steps provided)

Some admin/paperwork/telephone calls as and when required

Some driving duties (outings, shopping trips further afield etc) 

Essential Requirements

PA with experience

Fluent English speaker, literacy and numeracy are required

Must have a clean driving licence and use of a car

Ability to perform all tasks as stated in the job description (with guidance if necessary)

Must have a person centred approach and an understanding of enabling independence

Must be able to follow instructions but must also be able to take the initiative

Must be honest, reliable and trustworthy

Must adopt a flexible approach to the work

Must be respectful of confidentiality and my dignity (many problems can arise from casual conversations about the help and assistance you might give. It is important to maintain a professional attitude at all times).

Must have the emotional resilience to be able to support individuals facing challenges in their day to day life
