Experienced young and dynamic *Female Children’s Support Workers required for a little girl who sustained brain damage at birth and is suffering from developmental delay. Our client lives in the Hornchurch area.
The successful applicants will work with our client in a supportive role within the family home providing support and assistance to her parents and sister.
Our client is a delightful 6-year-old girl who has behavioural difficulties and challenges with developing her social skills.
Our client requires support workers to provide assistance with her toileting needs and all personal hygiene, also to support her mother collecting her from school.
The support workers will also be responsible for developing and implementing an activity timetable in collaboration with our client’s parents. To include after school clubs, board games, and outdoor activities.
Therapy programmes will be put in place shortly and training will be provided to enable you to support our client.
Due to the nature of our client’s behaviour the support worker will often need to support our client’s family in implementing techniques and ensuring the client maintains a routine. The support worker will be expected to attend all training that will be client specific. High standards of documentation will be expected, and IT skills are essential.
Working hours: the contracted hours will be 16-20 hours per week, as this is a new post the hours may increase. Initial hours are:
7.30am to 9.30am – occasionally, to be agreed with the client’s mother
2.30pm to 7.00pm – Monday and Wednesday, term time only
2.30pm to 11.00pm - alternate Fridays
12.00 noon to 5.00pm – Saturday
8.00pm to 11.00pm - alternate Saturdays, babysitting
10.00am to 6.00pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday, during the school holiday
Applicants must have experience working with young children along with some understanding of brain injury. Excellent communication skills are essential.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Alternatively, the applicant must undertake the Care Certificate training.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
Rates of pay: £14.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.00 per hour Saturday and Sunday
All posts are subject to Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential along with your own vehicle.
