High level Special Needs Teaching Assistant/support worker required to work on a private one to one basis with our client at Penn Hall School.  Our client is a thirteen-year-old boy who lives in the Wolverhampton area with his family.

Our client has cerebral palsy, he is wheelchair dependent and he is a bright, intelligent, happy young man.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support in the school classroom, and assist the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum to our client. We are seeking someone with experience in using Eye Gaze communication and who is able to prepare lesson plans for 1:1 sessions focusing on his eye gaze, with set activity, content and goals. 

Duties will include personal care, feeding, manual handling and physiotherapy.

Experience of working with children with complex needs/in a school is essential.

This is a full time post, 8:30am to 16:00pm per week during term time.

Rate of pay: £15.00 an hour.

The successful candidate will be included as part of a care team at home and must able to attend team meetings and training as additional duties.

During the school holidays there is an option to take the holidays off or to work flexibly to cover additional hours with our client in his own home, supporting with all daily living activities, participating with therapy programmes, working closely with family and professionals.
