Children's Support Worker

Experienced Support Workers required for a 6-year-old girl living in the Hornchurch, Greater London area.

 

Ideal Candidate will work with our client in a supportive role within the family home providing support and assistance to her parents and sister.

 

Our client is a delightful 6-year-old girl who sustained brain damage at birth and is suffering from developmental delay. She has behavioural difficulties and challenges with developing her social skills.

 

Our client requires someone to provide assistance with her toileting needs and all personal hygiene. To support mum getting ready and taking her to and from school.

 

The support worker will also be responsible for developing and implementing an activities timetable in collaboration with her parents, to include after school clubs, board games, and outdoor activities.

 

Therapy programmes will be put in place shortly and training will be provided to enable you to support our client.

 

Due to the nature of our client’s behaviour the support worker will often need to support our clients family in implementing techniques and ensuring the client maintains routine. The support worker will be expected to attend all training that will be client specific. High standards of documentation will be expected, and IT skills are essential.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with young children
  • Some understanding of Brain Injury
  • Must have vehicle and hold a clean driving licence
  • NVQ level2/3
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Flexible
  • IT Skills to be able to keep legible documentation

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in working with challenging behaviour
  • Experience in working in an educational setting
  • Experience in working with Brain injury clients.

Workinghours:16-20 hours per week. This is a new post. Hours may increase.

 

7am - 9.30am Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday during term time (Optional)

 

2.45pm-7.00pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday during term time.

 

10am - 3pm Saturday

 

During school holidays 2 days per week will be required 11am-4pm.

 

Rates of pay £14.00 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.00 per hour Saturday and Sunday

 

All posts are subject to Enhanced DBS Disclosure. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
