Finance Assistant

Reporting to:                       Finance Manager

Location:                             Worcester offices

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Registering purchase ledger invoices
  • Emailing customers with statement of accounts and invoices
  • Month-end analysis work for management accounts pack
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Basic reconciliation of stocks
  • Inputting data into the nominal journals
  • Locating ‘Proof of Deliveries’ documents and forwarding onto the customer
  • Raising credit notes
  • Printing off invoices and distributing by post / email
  • Filing / scanning / photocopying of all finance documentation
  • General office tasks – making drinks, answering and directing calls, stationary management
  • Assisting in sorting out Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger queries
  • Any other duties requested by the Finance Manager

 

Skills, abilities and characteristics

 

Essential

  • Good numeracy and analytical skills / ability
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Used to working with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Access) and bespoke database systems
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn
  • Previous experience of working in a finance team

The hours of work are: Mon - Thurs 0845 to 1700 and Friday 0845 to 1545 with a 30 minute unpaid break.
