Background to the job
I am a lady wheelchair user who requires full personal care assistance for an hour in the evening from 8.30-9.30pm
I am generally very laid back with a variety of interests and a good sense of humour. I have a suprapubic catheter and little sensation below waist. I currently have a team of PA’s who are supporting me so I need someone who can be a team player.
Hours / Times of Work
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sat & Sun 8.30pm to 9.30pm
There are extra hours available to cover holidays, should you require them or just bank hours if you would prefer.
Rates of Pay and other Benefits
£9.50 per hour
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Your main duties will be to support me to get to ready for bed and then hoist me into bed.
It is IMPORTANT that you meet ALL the Essential Requirements BEFORE you apply for the job.
Common sense. Ability to observe and act on any changes in my skin integrity. You will have a good sense of humour. You will be able to demonstrate that you can work as part of a team. You will be flexible and adaptable.
You will be willing to learn from me what needs to be done. You might have nurse training or experience of nursing.
Manual handling training or certificate - Training can be given

The jobs is advertised on an employed basis (i.e. it is not relevant for self-employment). Successful applicants will be required to provide a P45 or complete a P46 which will be forwarded to HM Revenue and Customs to ensure that appropriate tax and national Insurance deductions can be made.
You must be legally entitled to work in the UK. This will be checked as part of the application process.
The job requires people who have of a good degree common sense and initiative. It is essential that you are able to respect confidentiality. As part of the work you will inevitably get to know a lot of personal information about the person you are supporting. It is essential, and a specific requirement of the job, that you respect people's confidentiality at all times.
