We have a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable and experienced Product Development Manager to take responsibility for the range planning and sourcing and development of new products to compliment our existing range.

As the Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for handling the range planning and part of the product development for the business.  Working with the various different areas of our business, this role requires a highly motivated individual who is able to work to tight deadlines and understands the confidential nature of the products and licenses we are working with.

 

 Key Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and planning product ranges for each license, ensuring that all product categories are met.
  • Identifying new market sectors and product opportunities within the licensed product portfolio.
  • Work with our designers to develop specific licensed products to compliment our existing product offering and ensure that all bespoke briefs are met.
  • Ensure product ranges are maximised to their full potential and that approved products not selected are made available to the Sales teams.
  • Ensure product launches happen on time following embargoed release.
  • Attend UK and European Trade Shows and ensure that new products are planned in and on stands.
  • Travel to the Far East to visit suppliers and factories.
  • Be involved in forecasting and buying procedures and influence buying decisions.
  • Source new products, finishes and techniques for a wide range of new and existing product, sharing ideas and thoughts on the new ranges.
  • Check factory photos, samples and production samples and understand the factory and suppliers’ capabilities, instructing new product briefs for the factories to adhere to with clear target price and standards required.
  • Attend meetings to support the wider team, adhering to agreed deadlines and managing the critical path for each project with all departments.
  • Expand key product areas across retail channels and price points, evaluating retailers and competitors’ products in the market and identify new trends.

  Key skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Product Testing requirements and Product Risk Assessment
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Be commercially aware
  • Be self-motivated and able to influence others
  • Ability to build and maintain successful business relationships
  • Must be available to travel within the UK and to Europe and the Far East
