HR:4UK has an excellent opportunity to join their team as an HR Consultant supporting their clients in varying business areas on a wide range of employment issues and HR projects.

To be successful as an HR Consultant you will need to have experience at a senior level of dealing with managing change programmes, developing people strategies etc; possess demonstrable knowledge of employment legislation and best practice across a broad range of initiatives; a high aptitude for technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations

  • To provide client focused HR employment law telephone/email advice as well as onsite visits ensuring that advice is focused on meeting the client’s specific needs and requirements.
  • Ensure that advice is delivered in clear and practical terms, modified to each client to ensure that they fully understand what action needs to be taken to address their particular issues, avoiding the use of unnecessary legal jargon or technical terms or references.
  • To project manage and deliver employment legislation changes to clients.
  • To manage and conduct disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings, where appropriate.
  • To manage redundancy and TUPE processes for clients including the preparation of associated documentation.
  • To manage and support clients with change management projects, attending client senior management meetings, developing people strategies etc. as required.
  • To identify potential legal consequences or financial risks in relation to actions being contemplated by our clients and to be able to advise the client, with confidence and authority, as to how to mitigate such risks.

Training and Development

  • To assist clients with their training and development requirements.
  • Where appropriate help design and deliver training courses/workshops.
  • To ensure that clients are receiving value for money with regards to the training provided.


  • To liaise with clients over their recruitment requirements, drafting of job descriptions and managing recruitment campaigns as required.
  • To ensure that the client is receiving a good level of quality candidates, and where appropriate look at alternative sources of candidates.
  • To generate recruitment campaigns from existing and new clients.

HR Administration

  • To review, draft and finalise Employee Handbooks/policies and contract templates as required.
  • To provide clients with relevant supporting guidance notes and documentation to assist them in implementing the advice given.
  • To maintain accurate, detailed contemporaneous call notes, using Goldmine, to enable other consultants, if required to have all the material information available to them to advise on an ongoing case and are of sufficient level of detail for audit and call monitoring purposes.

Account Management/Business Development

  • To maintain regular contact with assigned clients and ensure that their HR matters are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner in accordance with any SLAs.
  • To regularly discuss with clients their HR issues and where we can provide additional support.
  • To visit potential clients and prepare proposal documents as required.
  • To ensure that client relationships are managed and that clients value the service provided.

Other Duties

  • To keep up to date with employment legislation.
  • To advise and provide assistance to the Company in updating all its documentation used in supporting clients.
  • Provide an out of hours telephone cover 4 x times a year approximately 3 weeks at a time.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required.


  • Provide support to other areas of the business 
  • Must be able to undertake unlimited travel that includes attending on site meetings with clients as required.
  • Must be able to attend regular team meetings as required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and a high standard of written English
